COURSE OVERVIEW

The Basic Life Support Providers (BLS) Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. However, anyone can take a BLS Provider class.

The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child, and infant
2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child, and infant
Differences between adult, child, and infant rescue techniques

Bag-mask techniques for adult, child, and infant
Rescue breathing for adult, child, and infant
Relief of choking for adult, child, and infant
CPR with an advanced airway

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued an American Heart Association course completion card via e-mail. This certification is valid for two years.

PROGRAM OPTIONS

Heartsaver® Total

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Heartsaver® CRP AED

The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Heartsaver® first aid

First aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2015 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid.
