Donald Colarusso

President & AHFT Lead Instructor


Don joined the fire service on April 7, 1987 and served 35 years in the fire department. During that time he served as a fire chief for 6 years before transitioning to a position as Deputy Coordinator overseeing Special Operations in a municipal Office of Emergency Management. He is the Team Leader for Neptune Township NJ's Technical Rescue Team.

Paul Hashagen

Senior Instructor Emeritus 


Paul has been a tremendous inspiration, mentor and friend to All Hands Fire, for which we are eternally grateful. Paul Hashagen served over 40 years in the fire service. He joined the FDNY and was assigned to Engine 74, then to Ladder 25. He became a member of Rescue Company 1 in 1983 where he spent the next 20 years. Paul is a member of Freeport Fire Department - Truck 1 in Nassau County, Long Island where he also served as Chief of Department.

Joel Kanasky

Joel has been a tremendous inspiration, mentor and friend to All Hands Fire, for which we are eternally grateful. Joel Kanasky served many years in Rescue Company 1 in Manhattan, before retiring from the FDNY. He also served as a Logistics Section Chief for FEMA Urban Search & Rescue. Prior to joining the FDNY, Joel was a firefighter with the Alexandria VA Fire Department and also served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps.

Jim served with the Jersey City Fire Department, retiring after 31 years. He is presently an active member of NJ Task Force 1 – Urban Search and Rescue Team, where he serves as a Task Force Leader and is responsible for the Search Component.

Rob has been a Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Water Rescue Instructor since 2017 and is currently a member of the PA Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, Montgomery County Urban Search and Rescue, and Gladwyne Fire Company’s Swiftwater Rescue Team.

Tony is a Battalion Chief with the Washington DC Fire Department. He was appointed to DCFD in March 1992. He has served in some of the District of Columbia’s busiest Engine and Truck Company’s, as well as serving in Rescue Company 2.

Chief Eysser has been in fire service since 1991. He has been a member of the FDNY since 1995 and is currently the Battalion Commander assigned to Battalion 50. His previous assignments include Captain of Ladder Co. 120 (Watkins Street), Lieutenant in Ladder Co. 124 (Tonka Truck), and Firefighter in Ladder Co. 111 (The Nuthouse)

Alex Gillespie began his fire service career in 2011 as a volunteer firefighter with the Finderne Fire Department in Bridgewater, New Jersey, progressing through the ranks to Captain. He is a New Jersey State Level I Fire Instructor and was hired by the Hillsborough Fire District in 2020, where he served as a career firefighter.

Paul was appointed to the FDNY in 1996 and was assigned to Engine Company 280 in Brooklyn. Through the years, Paul was assigned to Squad 252, Rescue Company 4 and served as Lieutenant in Squad Company 1 until his retirement in 2022.
